Undock and hit shift+j to jump out from M184. Importan part is to have enough shields/speed to fly oclose to the station. Jump or drive to M184, go straight to the station and just under 5km to go, hit shift+d to dock immideatly. Otherwise, you will soon be crying in the forums becasue you can´t even dock your ship. Get the Jumpdire and Docking Computer + a ship that goes about +130 and has 3x25 shields. The thing is: the developers had only players that played those two games in mind when they release TC, so the game itself is just like the X-tended mod for Reunion: devoid of tutorials.Įven if the mechanics and player HUD are a bit different, playing the first two games will give you a solid understanding of both the storyline and how everthing work. You will notice, along with the graphic quality increase, that the game mechanics is totally different: ships now have more weapon slots, Xenon now also have corvettes, and you can make more money more easily - i´m alway able to play the main mission from start onboard a Capital carrier: a Split Raptor! (just avoid the home of light sector and you can work on your budget).Īnd finally, you can play X3: Terran conflict. It has a lot of tutorials and only one main mission that can be completed with a simple m3 figther, but more importantly: it will set you in the enviroment and cover the basics. The best game to start is X2: the threat. Really, the learning curve will be vertical if you try to play it first. Terran Conflict was made on top of a collection of mods created for the orifinal X3: Reunion.īecause of that, TC doesn´t have any tutorials. Also, the Egosoft forums are your friend when you need to find a guide for something. Don't forget the huge number of total conversions available for both Reunion and Terran Conflict, but only look into those when you've got a good enough understanding of how things work in the vanilla game.Įdit: And for starting out, have a look at the Aprocot X3 Handbook, which is a collection of various guides, walkthroughs and maps from the Egosoft forums. It adds addtional features like the repair laser and missions via COM, but it took away the BBS and it is typically regarded as the easier of the two (between X3: Reunion and X3: Terran Conflict).įinally, Albion Prelude is kinda like another mini-expansion to X3: Terran Conflict, adding a few more features and decreasing performance futher Xd.ĪTM, Terran Conflict is the more newbie friendly of the lot (I'm playing Terran Conflict with the XTC Total Conversion, for me vanilla is a bit too slow), but it is possible to start out with any of them. X3: Terran Conflict is basically a slight upgrade to X3: Reunion. It's more reminicent of the previous two, but the only problems are the low performance on lower-spec computers and the nebula sectors (why did they have to add those -.-). The simplest fix is to use a mod to reduce the polygon counts of the tubes. The further apart they are, the more tubes there could be, and the more polygons you get on screen. X3: Reunion was the first game in the X3 part of the serries. The biggest issue with complexes is the large number of polygons in the connection tubes.
